Kaamyaab Movie Review

Suhail Umrani alias Raj

Kaamyaab is a 2020 Bollywood movie, this is a comedy drama and the film is written and directed by a national award winner Hardik Mehta. The same man who narrated the Trapped in 2017 and one more master piece is being added in Indian cinema, yes; we are talking about film Queen where he managed the script of movie. The movie is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Drishyam Films.

Kaamyaab stars Sanjy Mishra and Deepak Dobiryal in the lead roles but the list does not stop here and for this we have very sturdy basis to mention other character names in this catalog because this is chief spirit or essence of the film. In almost all movies, people only remember big stars mostly heroes, heroines or a few supporting artists but character artists are always being unnoticed.

Including Sanjay Mishra and Deepak Dobiryal film also casts Sarika Singh, Isha Talwar, Avtar Gill, Kaurwakee Vasistha, Amitabh Srivastava, Akashdeep Arora, Devika Vatsa, Viju Khote, Birbal, Lilliput, Ramesh Goyal, Manmauji, Guddi Maruti, Anil Nagrath, Bachchan Pacheria, Manoj Bakhshi, Rajkumar Baljeet, Mousmi Baruah, Shubhankar Das, Devas Dixit, Nandkumr Hardasi, Arvind Jagind, Nasirr Khan, Shehzad Khan, Alok Kumar, Tanvi Lakhani, Chunnu Mehra, Hardik Mehta, Virendra Mishra, Mukesh Nagar, Bharat Pahuja, Neeraj Pandey, Priyanka Patel, Sahil Patel, Mukesh Prajapati, Jack Rathod, Avinaash Razdan, Tyag Raj Shekhawat, Sunita Shirole, Akiriti Singh, Barkha Sohel, Sangeeta Srivastava, Jia Thakur, Wilson Tiger, Prakash Vartak, Tarun Vasson, and Rashi Verma.

This drama revolves around the struggle of an ex-artist of Indian cinema who wants to craft his life’s 500th film as he could be memorized as a record holder. Also desires to do best of his entire life and looking for a trademark performance that could be remembered always with his name.

This story is about odds of Bollywood where supporting artists are not treated well, this is a bitter and dark mirror of the industry. The movie is complete package of drama, comedy and emotions. And, more over an inspirational addition that gives you a message of never losing hope in life.

From the first scene when an interviewer is enthusiastically questioning from Sudheer (Sanjay Mishra) regarding his career and movies or characters he played in his entire life, whatever he retorts is truly amazing as cinema goers and lovers know his flawless acting skills. During the interview he seems dull, tired and not much excited about life and he just lasts a feeling of being an old man who has been retired from all spots but soon after a rapid fire of questions, his life changes when he knows about the number of films he has done. Then a curiosity emerges and the attitude he transforms is really amazing.

After a while he goes to the world of cinema once again where once he spent the days some ago, he reminds those days and observes a different time and soon after he finds his old companion Deepak Dobiryal who is equally a brilliant addition to the film.

This mellow drama has some other angles too as Sanjay’s meet ups with neighbor girl who is struggling in the city for the fame and another part of this epic is Sudheer’s personal life. Sudheer has a married daughter who lives with her husband and she has a pretty daughter. Sanjay’s interactions are really watchable and these family sequences worth the story.

Concluding the review with this hot line from the movie “I am enjoying my life Aur Option he Kya Hay” is the best dialogue of the movie as I perceive and this is a must watch film along with your family and friends.

I give total 4 out of 5 stars to this film for its unique story, direction and acting of Sanjay Mishra and Deepak Dobiryal.
